Quality Control

Applicable situation

The errors occur during the file conversion, making alteration, and imposition.

Client’s files need to go through some pre-press process. During the file adjustment, errors may occur because of layer locked, accidental shifting, file conversion or other reasons. If designer didn't notice the problem immediately and move on to the next stages, printing errors will come out. In order to avoid this situation, we need to spend a lot of time and effort to proofread the files, but undetected errors may still occur.

Solution

BRQC Plus can check the original design with edited files, and make sure they are matched correctly.

Having trouble during file proofreading? BRQC Plus is the best solution for you. It can compare the original design with the edited files. It’s compatible with variety artwork formats and multiple languages, suitable for packaging, books, stickers, labels...etc.

Printed Sheet Quality Control

Applicable situation

The signed color proof confirmed by the customer is still different from the final printouts.

Before the final printing, the printing press usually provide a color proof to clients for signature confirmation, but there is still a possibility that the final printouts are different from the signed color proof.

The last printouts were correct, but the new printed batch has errors.

Some clients will reorder same printouts repeatedly. There may be a possibility that new printed batch has errors. It might be due to unintentional human errors or plate damage.

Solution

You can use the ScanQC system to inspect the printed sheet and signed color proof.

ScanQC can do the scanned sheets inspection. It can check the printed product with the client's signed color proof or the retained sample. It can also use the original design as the standard to compare with printed material.

Film Object Relocation

Applicable situation

Spot UV/hot stamping/die cut often has position errors and causes complaint issue.

Printed sheets will change shapes a little bit due to compression during printing. It causes inaccurate position problem of the film or the original file during the post-press finishing. It is difficult to find an effective and accurate solution. Some problem may occur even if printing press reprint it again.

In general for spot UV or hot stamping process, you can manually cut the film and try to align it. It will take a lot of time, but at least it is doable. However, if you choose to do the hot stamping before printing, then you won’t be able to adjust the film manually, which will actually make it more complicated.

Solution

ARP system helps you to solve film /EPS file position alignment problems

ARP Film Object Relocation System is a solution for post-press finishing industry. It can adjust the file according to the scanned print sheets and output the correct film or EPS files. You will no longer need to worry about the alignment errors of spot UV/hot stamping/die cut.

postRIP Quality Control

Applicable situation

It's difficult to check the CTP plate detailedly

It's difficult to proofread 1bit tif file and CTP plate. Usually, errors are seldom happen, but once errors occur, it will cause huge losses. For this reason, proofreader needs to spend a lot of time to check these low probability errors.

Solution

You can use RIPQC software to check the files postRIP

RIPQC is applied during inspection of postRIP files. It can convert the ripped 1bit tif to composite contone TIF, and then compare with preRIP files. This will replace blue print and manual checking.

postRIP proofing

Applicable situation

Making postRIP color proof are troublesome, but printing directly from preRIP files can be risky

Limited to the size of digital printer (8.5”x 11” or 11”x 17”), ripped imposition can’t print out with digital color proof. Most of printing press use these two ways to confirm the proof: One way is to print the imposition with large format printer and make it in to a booklet. This way can be inconvenient and costly. The other way is to print color proof preRIP, it’s easier and faster, but errors may occur after postRIP.

Solution

You can use Page12C software to process the postRIP color proof

Page12C converts the 1bit tif imposition to composite contone tif, then separate the contone tif imposition to original page order, so you can easily print out with digital printer. No need to reprocess, and eliminate the errors on preRIP proof.

Adding bleed automatically

Applicable situation

Some clients provide files without adding bleed, which makes art workers spend extra time to process adding bleed every day

If the printing press cannot request their customer to provide files with adding bleed, it will create a lot of burden on their staffs. It is just wasting a lot of time and manpower on their production.

Solution

AutoBleed can help you process bleed jobs

AutoBleed software can add bleed on original files automatically, accurately, and quickly.
